Pay and Allowances
Job Corps pays each student employee a living allowance twice a month while in the program, just like a real job, taxes are deducted from this allowance.
There are 225 student employees on our center and approximately a 50/50 ratio of females and males. Our student employees are housed in four separate dormitories, and each dormitory has bathroom and shower facilities, laundry rooms, televisions, lounges, and vending machines.
Our student employees are provided three nutritious meals each day, at no cost, in one of the best cafeteria facilities in Job Corps. Evening snacks are provided at no additional cost as well.
The Wellness Center is open daily for basic medical, dental, and optometrist services which are provided free to our student employees and provides 24-hour emergency medical services. Weight management, smoking cessation, drug and alcohol intervention and prevention - Trainee Employee Assistance Program (TEAP), pregnancy prevention, and other health-related programs are also available.
As a Job Corps graduate, you will be prepared to leave with one of the "3E"s: employment, enlistment in the military, or enrollment in further education. You will have a positive outlook and be qualified and prepared for today's professional workplace. Additional graduate benefits include:
- A transition allowance of up to $1000 to assist you with transportation and housing (taxes will be deducted)
